Police have tightened security at the Manila City Hall after an informant reported to authorities a supposed threat to bomb the building.
Jett Tajonera of the Manila City Hall police detachment said that a lady informed police that she overheard a conversation between five men plotting to bomb the city hall.
Bomb disposal units scoured the building but did not find any explosives – the threat was dismissed as a hoax.
The information was relayed to Manila police authorities, who then rushed to the city hall to tighten security. Four entrances to the city hall were closed.
