The Chinese local government of Kaili has invested in a city-wide integrated digital security and video surveillance network.
The $14 million yuan (US$2 million) installation is part of the Kaili Safe City project. Installation has started and is expected to complete in five month’s time.
The central government has mandated the installation of surveillance and security systems across the country.
According to the China Public Security Guide, published by the Chinese Security and Protection Association, this will boost the security market to grow at 30 per cent per year. The market is expected to reach US$43 billion by 2010.
”In spite of the global recession, we continue to see strong momentum from security and infrastructure solutions in the Chinese market. We also believe the recent USD$586 billion stimulus package from the Chinese government will provide additional opportunities for our business ahead,” said James Zahn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cantronic Systems Inc.
